SQL Server Data Tools is the name used in SQL Server 2012 for the declarative database development tools previously known as "Database Projects", "DataDude", and various other things. It's also the name for what used to be known as "BIDS", or "Business Intelligence Development Studio", but it's the first of these two meanings we'll be focussing on in this talk.
We'll discuss the benefits of declarative database development and the enhancements the Visual Studio tools bring to the TSQL editing experience. We'll also take a look at the "why" and "how" of database unit testing and code analysis. Finally we'll cover the mechanisms provided for deploying our finished product.
